Three Minute Warm Apple Dessert

by

Today we are doing something completely different. No wood, no paint, no nails. We are headed to the kitchen to make a warm apple dessert. Anyone who knows me at all knows I’m a disaster in the kitchen. I once accidentally cooked a frozen pizza in the oven upside down and the cheese dripped down on to the bottom of the oven. Cheese was EVERYWHERE. In case you are wondering yes, it is as hard to clean up as it sounds.

I made this warm apple dessert recipe up recently and I really love it it needs to be shared because it was a success for me in the kitchen and that doesn’t happen often! Me trying to be a food blogger….that’s hilarious. Stick with me though, It is super simple and quick. Bonus it’s fall time as I write this so apples are in season and super delicious! I’ve even tried it with different variety of apples and that can really mix things up too.

One thing to know about me is I am a huge sweet tooth. I believe in everything in moderation but in an effort to eat less ice cream I came up with this gem of a recipe that you can make in three minutes flat. Great for when a sugar craving hits!

Ingredients:

  • 1 apple (any variety, I like honey crisp)
  • 1 t flour
  • 1t sugar
  • 1t brown sugar
  • 1t cinnamon
  • 1/2 t vanilla extract

Instructions

So really you can’t mess this up.

  • First cut up the apples. I like to make them about 1/2 an inch cubes (very roughly) the smaller the cube the mushier the apples will get, which I like. If you like them crisper cut them a little bit larger

  • Mix the dry ingredients together
  • Coat the apples in the vanilla, and then pour the dry ingredients over the apples and mix them around. The dry ingredients will soak in the the apples. I always put the vanilla on first otherwise the dry ingredients tend to clump up and not soak up nicely into the apples.
  • I microwave my apples for two minutes. They are done when there is some gooey liquid coming out of them.

Be sure to let them cool off before you enjoy. They get super hot. Now that I am thinking about it, this would be super delicious to mix in with ice cream! See it’s so simple you can’t mess it up. So give it a try and let me know what you think in the comments.
